About Me
Hello world. Its-a me, Matthew. Programmer extraordinaire.
During high school, I took a class on programming where we made Yahtzee, which taught me how much fun it can be to make games. I've always had a love for creating things, from building Legos to drawing. Take that along with my affinity for puzzles, and game development has become a challenging and fulfilling career.
I attended UC Santa Cruz where I received my BS in Computer Science: Game Design. There I learned the game making process, Unity, C#/++, design, and most importantly, teamwork.

After graduation I interned at a startup company, Change Lab, where we created educational games for the non-profit field. After six months I moved into a lead role and led the interns in the design and development of the games. My most recent job had me working at Left Turn Studios for 2 years as a Gameplay Programmer using Unity. I am currently in Japan studying Japanese and planning to work at a company locally where I can widen my experience outside of the US.
Games are a great way for people to gain new experiences. Games can be used to tell stories, play with friends, kill time, learn about topics, and more. I want to learn more about these different ways to create games so I can provide different experiences for players and help enrich their lives just a little. I also would like to make a game one day with a compelling story, good characters development, and exciting gameplay that will help people not be so afraid of animals that are generally painted as evil in media. This mainly being bugs, as their is a beautiful world of insects and other creatures that have important roles and deserve more than being treated as pests. Except mosquitoes. They deserve the hate.
Other interests include language learning, reading comics, and animals (especially big cats and bugs). I also enjoy traveling to new countries which allows me to experience different cultures and their cuisines. New and different experiences are what make life beautiful.
